A slow personal computer should be ancient history. With advancement in innovations and technology, having a slow computer will really make you feel living in the Jurassic era. Bcause of this that people always search for ways to speed up their personal computers.
If you are experiencing this, then this is the correct place. Its true that there are several ways involve in speeding up a PC. But hey, these easy things are worth a try.
Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:
> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Cut down the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Click the Effects tab. Deselect the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing Properties, clicking the Appearance tab, clicking the Effects option and unchoose Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Click OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by deleting out the programs you dont need at start-up. For those who use Windows 98, this could be done by going to Start and clicking
Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button Click the Start up tab then deselect the softwares you wish to disablethroughout the startup. You see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you decrease the softwares that PC needs to run.
> Defrag may be an old school process but it doesnt fail to help anyone who has speed problems. Look for the defragement option on the System Tools. Be sure that you dedicate a time for defragging. Running varied applications while on defrag restricts the process itself.
> Selecting to install your software would be best if you frequently experience errors. Run a virus scan before you back up all of your important files Also, be sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Installing again your program takes at least an hour or so
> Removing programs that you do not use. Programs, whether you are using them or not, eat up space in your hard disk. If you arent using them, then remove them. Real Estate |
